NAACP - PROJECT 100 Families
The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.
Some major objectives of the Amarillo Branch NAACP are to improve the political, educational, social and economic status of African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities; to eliminate racial prejudice and to take lawful action to secure the elimination of racial discrimination.
The Amarillo Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is an all-volunteer organization made-up of highly motivated individuals committed to the mission of the NAACP.
To achieve the objectives of the Amarillo Branch, financial stability is a must. Continued financial support from the community is vital to this Branch and its mission.
Over the next 100 days, beginning February 12, 2005, the Freedom Fund Committee is inviting families in the Amarillo Community to become a supporter of our Project 100 Families. This is a fundraiser to empower the Amarillo Branch to meet the challenges that is ahead of it. We are asking your family to please donate $100.00 to support the Amarillo Branch NAACP.
Your generous donation will help:
- Establish a permanent scholarship fund and ACT-SO Program for our youth
- Enable this Branch to achieve economic independence and establish a local Amarillo Branch Office
- Empower this Branch to develop programs and activities to enhance the lives of members of our community
- Ensure justice and equality for the citizens of our community
As a member of Project 100 families, your family's name will be put on a special recognition plaque, you will receive special recognition at the Freedom Fund Banquet and in the souvenir book, and you will receive a Certificate of Appreciation as a member of the Project 100 Families. Most of all you will be doing a great service for your community and this vital organization.
Please keep in mind that the Amarillo Branch NAACP is a 501 (c) (4) organization.
Contributions or gifts to this NAACP Branch are not tax deductible as a charitable donation.
The Amarillo Branch NAACP Freedom Fund Committee looks forward to your support of this Branch. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Floyd Anthony, Maggie Smith, or James Savage at (806) 352¬9492.
