Founded in November 2001 by Dexter Harper, blackamarillo.com was designed from the start to address the concerns of African American communities across West Texas.

The mission of blackamarillo.com is to establish a forum for open discussions about issues that affect all of us.

Our goal is to serve as a catalyst in the provision of both short and long term solutions that will enrich individuals, businesses and communities.

• The blackamarillo.com event calendar, an avenue to accelerate the speed that information flows throughout our community and lives
• ‘Speak Out’, an anonymous forum from which voices otherwise silent are given center stage
• A free business directory, providing equal footing for both young and established entrepreneurs
• ‘Shout Box’, an informal outlet for expressions on daily life.
